In a world driven by global connectivity, organizations play a vital role in fostering relationships and creating positive change within communities. The Fafali Organization has been dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and partner schools in the underserved communities of the Anumle and the Kpoviadzi Electoral Areas. Through the resolute dedication of their volunteers, they have successfully facilitated an exchange program through a pen pal project between one of our partner schools, Jerremite International School in Ghana and Friedrich-Bahrens-Gymnasium (FBG) in Germany. This inspiring partnership, nurtured by a parent of one of the volunteers, Sarina Hohmann, highlights the organization’s commitment to fostering connections and empowering communities.
The Power of Collaboration
At the heart of this transformative initiative lies the deep-rooted connection between Connie Hohmann, the mother of Sarina, one of the devoted volunteers, and her role as a teacher at Friedrich-Bahrens-Gymnasium (FBG) in Germany. Recognizing the potential for cultural exchange and mutual learning, Connie seized the opportunity to forge a valuable partnership between FBG and Jerremite International School, one of Fafali Organization’s esteemed partner schools. Her dedication and passion for educational development laid the foundation for this extraordinary project.
Signing of the MoU
To solidify the partnership between FBG and Jerremite International School, Connie worked tirelessly to ensure the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. This pivotal agreement serves as a testament to the commitment of FBG to support Jerremite International School through annual fundraising efforts. The funds raised through this collaboration are directed towards infrastructure development and the overall operations of the school, empowering students with a conducive learning environment.
In an interview with Connie, she mentioned, “Being able to forge a partnership between FBG and Jerremite International School has been a truly rewarding experience. Through our collaboration, we are able to create meaningful connections, bridge cultural gaps, and make a lasting impact on the education and development of students. I am grateful for the support and dedication of the Fafali Organization, who have made all of this possible.”
Headmaster of Jerremite International School, Jerry Akunnor, also shed more light what such a collaboration means for their institution and the intended impact.
“The partnership with Friedrich-Bahrens-Gymnasium has opened up a world of opportunities for our students. Through the exchange pen pal project, they are not only expanding their horizons but also gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation for different cultures. The annual support provided by FBG through the MoU will significantly contribute to the development and growth of our school, enabling us to provide an enhanced learning environment for our students. We will also look to offer as much as possible in this collaborative effort” Jerry said.
A Journey Across Continents: Witnessing Impact Firsthand
Demonstrating their deep investment in this partnership, Connie and her husband, Markkus Hohmann traveled all the way from Germany to witness the operations of the Fafali Organization. Their visit was not only an opportunity to oversee the signing of the MoU with the partner school but also to witness the remarkable impact their daughter, Sarina has made through her Dzidefo project under the women empowerment program of the Fafali Organization in the Anumle Electoral Area. This personal connection further strengthens the bond between Fafali Organization and its dedicated supporters, fostering a sense of shared purpose and a drive for meaningful change.
