To boost the digitalization agenda being pursued by the Government to enhance the economic development of the country, the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in line with its mandate, has partnered with BlueSPACE Innovations Hub to recruit, train and deploy some 2,000 young talents into the digital financial services sector under the BlueSPACE’s Finsoft Fellowship Initiative.
The partnership was sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the YEA and BlueSPACE Innovations Hub yesterday at the YEA Head office in Accra.
Under the Agreement, the YEA will do the recruitment of the 2000 people, while the partner BlueSPACE Innovations will train and deploy the young people in the digital financial services to create jobs for them and promote access to financing for young entrepreneurs in the digital economy.
Good timing
The Chief Executive Officer of Youth Employment Agency, Kofi Baah Agyepong, who signed the deal for the Agency stated that this is a good time for the youth of Ghana and for those who envision to get into the space of Fintech.
He stressed that the Agency is vigorously embarking on public private partnerships, provision of conducive environment for the private sector youth- oriented programs to thrive. He added that YEA is also offering support for private businesses and entrepreneurs who had the potential to create jobs for the youth of Ghana.
Mr. Sam Amanor, Founder and CEO of BlueSPACE Innovations Hub, signed on behalf of the BlueSPACE. He disclosed that they planned to cover the entire country with their innovations but were currently concentrating on Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi and hoping to extend to the Northern sector having found the YEA a useful partner in that pursuit.
