George Krobea Asante, NPP Deputy Communications Director

A Deputy National Communications Director of the governing NPP, George Krobea Asante, says some actions of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are gradually becoming a cause to worry for the peace and stability in the country.
Speaking exclusively with the Daily Statesman on Asiedu Nketia’s revelations about the NDC’s 2021 election petition, he alleged that the schemes of the NDC had always brought Ghana’s democracy under attack.
“The NDC went to court to challenge the 2020 presidential election results without any evidence to back its case, according to a leaked audio recording of the party’s General-Secretary,” he stated.
That, he described, as a clear orchestrated attempt to sow seeds of treachery in the 2021 general elections.
“The NDC would stop at nothing to ensure that political power becomes their lot, and if that means they have to churn out propaganda to achieve that, they’re ready to do so. This revelation about the NDC’s 2021 election petition is dangerous to the present and future health of our democracy, and must be condemned outrightly,” he indicated.
Wonder
Mr Krobea Asante wondered how the NDC could be trusted with political power with such evil mindset of sacrificing the national interest for their selfish and parochial gains.
“Our democracy and economy must not be toyed with as far as the opposition party is concerned. The NDC’s manifest dishonesty and baseless petition to overturn the 2020 elections at the Supreme Court has been exposed by the party’s General Secretary,” he added.
He further called on the former President John Dramani Mahama to apologise to the Supreme Court for describing it as a “Unanimous FC”, when he knew the NDC did not have any evidence whatsoever to prove their case.
The NPP Deputy Communications Director claimed that the NDC was only aiming to waste the precious time of the court and Ghanaians generally.
He therefore urged Ghanaians to vote against the party in the 2024 general elections because it has nothing good for the nation.
“Ghanaians are advised never to trust NDC in any future election petition whatsoever. I am also calling on civil society organizations to speak to this blatant dishonesty of the NDC, disrespect to Ghanaians, and the abuse of the legal system,” he said.
He urged the Judiciary to sanction all the NDC lawyers who participated in the fabrication of evidence to waste the Supreme Court’s time and resources.
