Members of the UOSA 2006 Batch have celebrated their 20th Anniversary with a memorable and impactful gathering aimed at strengthening alumni bonds while contributing to the development and restoration of their alma mater.
The celebration, which brought together old students, school authorities, teachers, and other stakeholders, served as a moment of reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment toward the growth and improvement of the school.
Activities for the anniversary began with the arrival of guests and members at Poly Junction, where participants engaged in a brief meet-and-greet session. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and nostalgia as old colleagues reunited, shared memories, and reconnected after years apart.
The gathering later moved into a prayer and praise session, during which members expressed gratitude to God for His guidance, protection, and faithfulness over the past two decades since completing school.
Following the opening activities, participants proceeded to the school premises for the main anniversary program. Upon arrival, a general school assembly was organized, creating an opportunity for both students and alumni to interact and reflect on the institution’s journey over the years.
Addressing the gathering, the Head of School commended the UOSA 2006 Batch for remembering their roots and returning to contribute meaningfully to the institution that shaped them. The Head emphasized the importance of alumni involvement in educational development and encouraged other year groups to emulate the gesture demonstrated by the 2006 Batch.
A representative of the alumni also delivered a milestone address, highlighting the history of the batch, the experiences shared during their years in school, and the collective responsibility of old students to support the institution. The speaker stressed the urgent need for unity among alumni to help restore the school’s infrastructure and improve conditions for current students.
One of the major highlights of the celebration was the official presentation and handover of 30 modern desks to the school by the UOSA 2006 Batch. The donation was described as part of the group’s commitment to improving the teaching and learning environment for both students and teachers.
Members of the alumni noted that quality education thrives in a conducive environment and expressed hope that the desks would help ease some of the challenges faced by students in the classroom.
The event also featured a special Teachers’ Recognition segment, where the Headmaster, selected teachers, and the school driver were honoured for their years of dedication, sacrifice, and service to the institution. The recognition ceremony was met with applause and emotional moments as alumni members expressed appreciation to individuals who contributed significantly to their academic and personal development during their school days.
As part of the anniversary activities, members embarked on an exhibition walk around the school campus, revisiting classrooms, dormitories, and other familiar places that shaped their educational journey. The tour allowed alumni to assess the current state of the school while also rekindling memories and strengthening friendships among members.
The anniversary celebration concluded with closing remarks and a group photography session to capture memorable moments of the historic occasion.
Speaking at the end of the program, members of the UOSA 2006 Batch made a passionate appeal to all old students of the institution to unite and actively contribute toward the face-lifting and restoration of the school.
According to the group, rebuilding the institution requires collective effort, commitment, and a shared sense of responsibility from all alumni and stakeholders.
They emphasized that the school had played a major role in shaping the lives and careers of many individuals and therefore deserved continuous support and investment from its former students.
The UOSA 2006 Batch noted that the 20th Anniversary celebration was not only about commemorating two decades of shared experiences but also about inspiring a renewed culture of giving back, unity, and service.
They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting future developmental initiatives and expressed optimism that with collective support, the institution could regain its former standard of excellence.
“Together, we can rebuild, restore, and uplift our alma mater to greater heights,” the group stated.
