Bawumia: NPP is the only party with ideas to transform Ghana

Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is the only political party that has the best of ideas to transform Ghana.

According to the Vice-President, the track records of the governing party and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), during their terms in office, show that the former has always proved to be the best party for Ghana.

Citing the many initiatives from the administrations of Presidents John Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, such as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Metro Mass Transit, Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, and the use of drone technology to deliver healthcare, Dr Bawumia argued that the NPP has become synonymous with nation-building visions, policies and programmes.

Go with NPP

Dr Bawumia, who was speaking in Accra over the weekend, after resuming his Greater Accra campaign tour, urged Ghanaians who want ideas to develop a nation “to go with NPP”.

“Without NPP, there would be no Free SHS. Without NPP there would be no One Village One Dam. No One constituency One Ambulance; No One District One Factory, and so many initiatives that are building this nation.

“But if you want dumsor, school fees in Senior High School, cancellation of teacher and nursing trainee allowances, and all the economic hardship we experienced not too long ago, then go with NDC and John Mahama,” the Vice-President said.

The Vice-President, who took his campaign tour to the Odododiodio constituency, said without the NPP, the ongoing construction works on the proposed Jamestown harbour and the Salaga market would not have been taking place.

He added that in Nii Lantey Bannerman, the NPP parliamentary candidate for the area, the people have an advocate for accelerated development.

“Nana Akufo-Addo, Nii Lantey Bannerman and the NPP are asking you to give them the opportunity to do even more for Odododiodio. Give us the chance to spread development to every corner of Ghana,” he stated.
