A Deputy Coordinator for the Free Senior High School Secretariat, Miss Afra Sika Mensah, has appealed to the privileged in society to consider supporting the needy in society.
She stressed that such a gesture would go a long way to change the fortunes of such people who did not opt to be less privileged in society, adding that such a gesture would attract God’s abundant blessing.
Miss Afra Sika made the appeal after visiting and making a personal donation to the Osu Children’s Home over the weekend as part of activities marking her birthday.
Items presented to the home were assorted exercise books, drinks, bags of rice and biscuits, among others, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
She also lauded the staff of the Osu Children’s Home for the dedication and support they have been offering the inmates of the home. The Deputy Coordinator pledged to continue supporting the home so the children would enjoy a good life.
Miss Afra Sika further urged corporate organizations, private institutions and philanthropists emulate the example in complementing the effort of government towards the welfare of the needy.
She reminded the inmates to appreciate the support being offered them by their caregivers and pray for them so they would be able to work very hard towards their upkeep.
