The National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayesu Ntim, has emphasised the pivotal role of the youth in securing victory for the party in the forthcoming 2024 general election.
Speaking during a National Youth Wing Mentorship Forum, Mr Ntim highlighted the critical significance of the youth demographic in ensuring a successful electoral outcome.
He urged young party members to assume an active and influential role in shaping the NPP’s path to triumph. He underscored the immense potential and energy possessed by the youth, noting that their commitment and dedication would be instrumental in realizing the party’s electoral objectives.
“The future of our party lies in the hands of our vibrant and dynamic youth. As we march towards the 2024 general election, I call upon our young party members to rise to the occasion. Your passion, enthusiasm, and innovative ideas will serve as the driving force that propels the NPP to victory,” he stated.
Instrumentality
The NPP Chairman noted that NPP youth had spearheaded the party’s campaign in previous election and secured victory. He expressed confidence that the youth will once again rise up to the occasion in 2024 election to break the 8-year governance cycle.
Mr Ntim recounted that over the years, young people who subscribe to the NPP political tradition have been very instrumental in promoting the ideas and ideals of our beloved Party.
“You have served as the fulcrum around which the party’s campaign strategy revolves, availing yourselves in helping turn the electoral fortunes of our party through hard work and sacrifices with or without inducement,” he added.
He also acknowledged that through conscious strategies and appropriate mentoring rolled out by the Party over the years, young people in the Party, particularly products of TESCON and the Youth Wing, had been able to successfully transition into becoming top players in politics.
He mentioned John Boadu, Anthony Karbo, Sammi Awuku, Henry Nana Boakye, Fati Abubakar, Francisca Oteng-Mensah among others as some of the young people who have taken commanding lead in playing significant roles in the affairs of the Party and in government as well.
