Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Safia Mohammed, has pledged to pursue a women-centred leadership agenda focused on empowerment, inclusion and stronger grassroots mobilisation if elected National Women’s Organiser.
Taking her campaign to the Bono Region as part of her nationwide outreach, Hajia Safia told party supporters that strengthening the Women’s Wing would require creating greater opportunities for women while building unity across the party’s structures.
Her message centred on ensuring that women at the grassroots are not merely relied upon for political mobilisation but are given opportunities to participate meaningfully in the development and activities of the party.
Empowering the Women’s Wing
Hajia Safia said her vision is to build a stronger and more inclusive Women’s Wing capable of responding to the needs and aspirations of women across the country.
She stressed the importance of bringing women together and creating an environment in which members at the polling station, constituency, regional and national levels feel included in the work of the party.
Her campaign has maintained that women remain central to the NPP’s grassroots organisation and should therefore be adequately empowered to contribute to rebuilding and strengthening the party.
The Bono engagement also provided an opportunity for Hajia Safia to interact with women, youth and other party supporters and listen to their concerns as she outlined her plans for the Women’s Wing.
Nationwide Engagement
Her campaign team described the reception in Bono as enthusiastic, with party supporters turning out for the engagement as she continued her outreach ahead of the NPP’s national elections.
Hajia Safia, who currently serves as Deputy National Women’s Organiser, is seeking elevation to the National Women’s Organiser position at the party’s National Annual Delegates Conference in Kumasi on October 3, 2026.
As the contest enters its final days, she is presenting empowerment, grassroots inclusion and unity as the central pillars of her campaign for the leadership of the NPP Women’s Wing.
