Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Safia Mohammed, has called for unity and hard work among party members as she continues her campaign to become the party’s next National Women’s Organiser.
Hajia Safia took her nationwide campaign tour to the Ahafo Region on Saturday, where she engaged Women Organisers, party members and Women Commissioners of the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy Network (TESCON).
Her visit comes with less than a week to the NPP’s National Officers’ Elections, scheduled for October 3, 2026, in Kumasi.
Unity and Hard Work
During her engagements, Hajia Safia presented unity and hard work as critical to strengthening the NPP and rebuilding a vibrant Women’s Wing.
She also used the interactions to listen to concerns raised by delegates and outline her plans for the Women’s Wing, with an emphasis on grassroots participation and keeping members at the centre of the party’s activities.
Her campaign has consistently focused on women’s empowerment, inclusion and grassroots mobilisation as she seeks elevation from her current position as Deputy National Women’s Organiser.
The Ahafo engagements follow recent campaign stops in the Upper West and Bono regions, where she similarly interacted with delegates and outlined her plans for the party’s women.
Hajia Safia is number one on the ballot for the National Women’s Organiser contest, while former Awutu Senya East MP Mavis Hawa Koomson occupies the second position.
Under the NPP’s electoral arrangements, every eligible female delegate at the National Delegates Conference, including TESCON Women Commissioners, is entitled to vote in the National Women’s Organiser election.
The October 3 elections will determine the party’s new national officers as the NPP reorganises its national leadership.
