Inspired Alswel Foundation (IAF), a non-governmental and humanitarian-based organization, will hold the maiden edition of the IAF Volunteers and Ambassadors Training on July 13, 2024. The event, which will be under the theme “Unleash the Power,” will take place at the British Council, Accra.
Detailing the rationale behind the programme in an interview, the CEO of IAF, Alswel Annan, said the training is geared towards preparations for the IAF Young Advocates Training Programme (YATP-24), which is aimed at enlightening the youth on volunteerism, communication, branding, and how to leverage the dominance of artificial intelligence to maximize the Foundation’s brand presence.
Additionally, he indicated that the programme seeks to encourage the teeming youth of the country to unleash the power within them, identify their potential, and impact society more positively.
He added that the program would be graced by individuals with diverse backgrounds who have vast knowledge and experience in various fields, with remarkable track records in volunteerism, communication, brand management, among others.
Training committee
A statement released by the CEO of IAF announced the appointment of a seven-member planning committee to organize a comprehensive training programme for volunteers, ambassadors, and members of IAF.
The appointed committee members are Ewoenam Amenu Yakor as Chairperson, Ampem Darko Kwabena as Deputy, Ayinawu Alhassan Adam as Secretary, Havi Delasi Justice as Protocol, Adjei Boakye as Media Head, Portia Odure as Outreach Coordinator, and Hollandswell Donkoh as Programme Design Lead.
According to the statement, the group brings a wealth of experience in youth development initiatives, event planning, and volunteer management.
They will be responsible for crafting the curriculum, securing facilitators, overseeing logistics, and ensuring the overall success of this critical capacity-building effort.
It indicated that ahead of the Inspired Alswel Foundation’s National Youth Festival, the one-day training programme aims to equip 200 young leaders from across the country with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to effectively represent the Foundation and engage their peers during this highly anticipated annual event.
Training topics
Key training topics will include effective communication and public speaking, event planning and operations management, youth empowerment strategies and facilitation, personal branding and social media advocacy, volunteer management and community mobilization.
It also noted that, in the coming weeks, the planning committee will finalize the programme agenda, secure the venue and resource partners, etc
