A Deputy National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), George Krobea Asante, has charged party officers in the Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency to let go of attitudes that contributed to the party’s disappointing performance in the 2024 general elections and begin working toward a strong comeback in 2028.
He made the remarks during a crucial general meeting organized by the Constituency Executive Committee of the party. The meeting brought together officers from the polling station level to the constituency leadership, creating an important platform for reflection and strategy ahead of the next general elections.
In his address, the Deputy Communications Director urged officers to confront the internal weaknesses that hampered the NPP’s efforts in the previous polls. “We cannot afford to carry the same negative attitudes into the future. If we want to win 2028, the work begins now,” he stated.
He emphasised that lack of unity, indiscipline, and poor coordination were key factors that derailed the party’s fortunes in 2024. He called for renewed commitment from every officer, stressing that grassroots mobilization and early campaigning were critical for victory.
“Our strength lies in our structures, and it is time we make them work effectively. The polling station officers, electoral area coordinators, and constituency executives must begin engaging the base, reenergizing our supporters, and building bridges where needed,” he noted.
He urged the officers not to wait until the next election year but to treat every day from now until 2028 as part of the campaign. He also encouraged greater discipline, open communication, and a strong focus on service to the people.
According to him, only through a united and forward-looking front can the NPP bounce back stronger and reclaim political power in the next election cycle.
