A member of the NPP National Communications Team, Lawrence Kwesi Botchway Jnr, says what the party needs today is a crop of leaders with “big minds” to occupy its national executive positions, and work towards retaining power in 2024 to protect the legacies of President Akufo-Addo.
He said the government of President Akufo-Addo had worked towards the interest of Ghanaians by pursuing progressive and impactful policies.
Speaking in a radio interview yesterday, he noted that it is a major reason why the NPP should not play with the 2024 elections, but win to safeguard the gains made so far.
“That’s why, we need a ‘big mind’. The NDC is committed through “fair or foul means” to recapture power. On this account, it is imperative that elected office holders go the extra mile in achieving the ‘breaking the 8’ agenda,” he stressed.
He further noted that even though variety and options are key in taking vital decisions, it is trite knowledge that “we don’t change a winning team”.
“Look, I always say, experience is key. We don’t change a General Secretary with experience, neither do we change any of the national executives with the wherewithal to propel the party to greater heights. We need ‘Adwenekεseε’, we need experienced drivers to drive the party to its destination of victory. We need ‘great minds’ to support the flagbearer. This will go a very long way to safeguard the legacies of President Akufo-Addo, and the NPP,” he reiterated.
