Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), a candidate in the recent Ashanti regional NPP chairmanship race, has urged party faithful to contribute their quota towards “breaking the 8″, come 2024.
At a thanksgiving service at the Upper Room Revival Assemblies of God Church, Kwadaso Estate, on Sunday, the former Afigya Kwabre South constituency chairman, also called for unity to enable the party win the 2014 elections.
“Many do not understand, and may be wondering why we’re here singing and dancing to God after the election defeat, but let me tell you that the Lord has been good to me, as the head of COKA family and the entire team. I am never disappointed. As I look round, I could see many leading members of party, identifiable groups and many who supported me but couldn’t be here and surely they’re still with us,” he stated.
He added: “I’m pleading that we have the biggest contest ahead of us come 2024, and, therefore, let us all help to ‘break the 8’. I am grateful to all who have supported me to come this far”.
For his part, the Assistant Pastor for the Upper Room Revival Assemblies of God Church, Rev. David Dontoh, encouraged COKA to build on his relationship with the teaming supporters and identifiable groups for his future political career.
He urged Christians to be prayerful, and stand as watchmen for their families, work, ministry and the nation in all their endeavours.
He said the time had come for the Church to pray for the country, adding that they should, especially, pray for politicians to help them carry out their mandate for the wellbeing of the people.
