The Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Mr. Felix Gyamfi, has pledged to champion and advance the Authority’s development agenda with a strong commitment to ensuring that the Authority remains impactful and relevant in driving national development initiatives across the country.
He made these remarks during his inaugural speech at a brief handing-over ceremony held at the NSA headquarters in Accra. He affirmed his readiness to lead the organisation towards achieving greater milestones while enhancing its contribution to Ghana’s growth and progress.
Mr. Gyamfi emphasised the pivotal role of the NSA in nurturing and deploying skilled personnel to key sectors of the economy, ultimately fostering sustainable national development. He indicated that under his leadership, the NSA would build on its foundational successes, positioning itself as a strategic partner in the nation’s development efforts. He assured stakeholders of his dedication to guiding the Authority towards greater achievements, reinforcing its role in shaping Ghana’s future.
Commendation
He further lauded his predecessor, Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi, for his visionary leadership, describing him as a “forward thinker” and “deep thinker” who had left an indelible mark on the organization. Mr. Gyamfi reiterated his commitment to continuing and innovating NSA operations, building on the foundation laid by the immediate past Director-General.
He highlighted several focal areas for growth, including the Authority’s involvement in food production, increasing agricultural efficiency, and strengthening partnerships. Notably, he pointed to the increasing food inflation and the vast arable land available in Ghana as unique opportunities for NSA to address unemployment and food insecurity through enhanced agricultural production.
“We have the potential to reduce reliance on food imports by increasing our own food production. This will provide sustainable solutions for Ghana’s economy while supporting national food security,” he added.
In addition to agriculture, Mr. Gyamfi emphasised the importance of collaboration within the NSA and with external partners to realize these ambitions. He called on the Authority’s Directors and other key stakeholders to support the vision he set forth, urging that the challenges facing the country are too great for him to tackle alone. “I cannot do this alone. I urge all Directors and stakeholders to join hands with me to build a more robust and effective NSA that will serve the greater good of Ghana.”
On the issue of operations, Mr. Gyamfi unveiled plans to modernize and expand the NSA’s catering services. He revealed that under his leadership, the Authority intends to transform its catering services into a 24-hour operation to better meet customer demands. “We can do it if we fix our minds to it, and this will allow us to compete with other eateries within our enclave,” he said.
Appreciation
The Acting Deputy Director-General of NSA, Ruth Dela Seddoh, expressed her gratitude to the outgoing leadership, and commended the management and staff for their unwavering commitment and support. “I sincerely thank the entire NSA team, especially our outgoing Director-General, for laying such a solid foundation,” she said. She pledged to continue the work while fostering a harmonious and productive working environment.
The immediate past Director-General, Osei Assibey Antwi, called on the new leadership to maintain the momentum of ongoing programmes. He particularly highlighted the successful implementation of the NSA’s metric applications, which had played a crucial role in streamlining operations. “The metric apps have revolutionized the efficiency of our processes, and I urge the incoming leadership to uphold and build upon this legacy for the betterment of the Authority,” he noted.
