I LOVE MY COUNTRY, BUT I AM ASHAMED OF MY PRESIDENT!
If Chairman Wontumi can face the full weight of the law, then what about the owner of Narawa? Will the state apply the same standards, or does the law become toothless when certain interests are involved?
GHANA MUST NOT BECOME A COUNTRY WHERE JUSTICE IS FOR THE OPPOSITION AND PROTECTION IS FOR THE PRIVILEGED!
If the state chooses to remain deaf and dumb over this matter, let it be on record: the future is pregnant, and its delivery will be multiple!
Meanwhile, the president’s family appears to be enjoying this so-called NEW INDEPENDENCE—where the battle for the nation’s natural resources raises disturbing questions about who is benefiting and who is being left behind. Even contested ownership appears to be no obstacle in this ruthless scramble for control.
So, let us celebrate the NEW INDEPENDENCE led by the President and his family. An independence where the powerful seem to win, accountability appears selective, and we citizens are left to watch.
GHANA IS NOT ANY FAMILY’S PRIVATE ESTATE. OUR NATURAL RESOURCES BELONG TO THE US, NOT A PRIVILEGED FEW!
History will judge us all. And when the time comes, no amount of political power will silence the people’s verdict.
