The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) has inspected development projects in the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly to strengthen oversight of the use of Ghana’s petroleum revenues.
The inspection, conducted on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, involved PIAC officials, a representative from the Ministry of Local Government and a team from the Municipal Assembly.
The exercise aimed to assess the state of the projects and keep the public informed about development initiatives funded by the Government of Ghana.
The projects inspected included the upgrading of the Powerland-Sakora road in Madina in 2018 and 2020, pothole patching and sectional repairs, resealing and grading of arterial and major roads in the municipality in 2024, as well as the rehabilitation of the Madina Melcom road in the same year.
The PIAC team commended the Municipal Assembly for its cooperation and urged officials to continue monitoring and inspecting the projects to ensure they remain in good condition and deliver lasting benefits to residents.
The inspection forms part of PIAC’s mandate to promote transparency and accountability in the management and use of Ghana’s petroleum revenues.
