(2nd left) Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency, inspects road project

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has redeemed his pledge to honour the late Haruna Esseku with the construction of the Akoti Junction-Senya Beraku Road, with construction works ready to commence today.
President Akufo-Addo made a promise to upgrade the road in honour of Mr Esseku, during a tour of the Central Region last month.
Before the promise, Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, had hinted that the road would be constructed before 2024.
Mr Arhin gave the hint on August 21, 2022, when he visited Senya-Beraku with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), George Akufo Dampare, to commission an office accommodation he had refurbished and furnished for the Senya-Beraku Police District Headquarters.

The construction
The construction of the road brings to three, the major roads that have been constructed in the constituency due to the effort of Mr Arhin.
The Bawjiase-Obrachire-Swedro Road is almost completed while that of Bawjiase-Ofaakor is moving on progressively.
Mr Arhin, the brainchild behind the project, visited the site on Wednesday with the District Chief Executive of the area, Joseph Aidoo, to encourage the contractor, M/S Maripoma, to speed up with the work.
The Akoti Junction-Senya Beraku road is a major road that connects the fishing community to its adjoining towns. The project will therefore facilitate the socio-economic activities of the people.
As a fishing community, the people of Senya Beraku, especially the women, are largely traders who trade in major markets in the country.
The construction of the road is therefore critical for their trade.
