The Institute of Economic Research and Public Policy (IERPP) is set to hold a press conference on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to examine the financial performance of BOSTenergies and raise concerns over proposed legislative changes contained in the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Bill.
The press briefing, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Ghana International Press Centre, will focus on the reported GH¢684 million profit recorded by BOSTenergies and the potential impact of the proposed NPA legislation on the state-owned energy company.
The Institute is expected to use the occasion to question the rationale behind legislative measures it believes could undermine the operations and financial strength of BOSTenergies at a time when the company has reported significant profits.
The conference is being held under the theme: “BOSTenergies Made GH¢684M Profit – Why Is Government Using the NPA Bill to Weaken It?”
According to IERPP, the central issue for discussion will be whether the proposed amendments under the NPA Bill could affect the capacity of BOSTenergies to operate effectively, compete within the petroleum sector and continue contributing to the national economy.
The Institute is also expected to examine the broader policy implications of the proposed changes and their possible consequences for a major state-owned player in Ghana’s petroleum downstream industry.
