The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, has commissioned a 40-bed capacity male and female wards for the Apatrapa Health Centre in the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly. The construction of the facility was funded by the Assembly.
Speaking at the brief commissioning ceremony, the Minister admonished the Assembly to liaise with the traditional authorities to prevent any form of encroachment of lands provided for the health centre.
He also commended the Assemblyman for the area for serving his community well, and also thanked the traditional council of Apatrapa for offering officials land for the project.
As part of activities for the day, the Regional Minister also commissioned newly constructed KG blocks at Takyiman and Agric M/A Primary schools.
He advised the beneficiary schools to adopt proper maintenance culture in order to keep the buildings in good conditions as they make good use of them.
Effective measures
Taking is turn, the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, assured the residents that effective measures would be taken to ensure the medical centre is upgraded to the status of a polyclinic.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Richmond Agyenim Boateng, assured residents and health workers that the Assembly would soon put up a theatre facility for the centre as a way of supporting proper service delivery.
