The National Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, has asked Ghanaians to consider the successes chalked under the Akufo-Addo government and vote massively to retain the NPP in power.
This is because, according to him, the December 7 election is about Ghana’s future, and the decision to be taken by Ghanaians will determine whether Ghana will progress or retrogress.
Speaking at Gushegu over the weekend, as part of a campaign tour to the North, Mr Awuku reminded the people of where the country has come from since 2017 January,
Honest leadership
He indicated President Akufo-Addo has been honest to the people by keeping his promises, especially with the people Gushegu.
“Today, Gushegu have their fair share of national development under the 1-Village-1-Dam; a Shea processing company under the 1-District-1-Factory; a new health centre; and also with many of the children benefiting from the Free SHS,” he stated.
With a large section of the constituents pouring out in their numbers to listen to the message of the NPP, Mr Awuku also pleaded with them to vote massively for the NPP parliamentary candidate for the area, Hassan Tampuli, on December 7.
He noted that Mr Tampuli has been a development agent in the constituency and, and so needs to be given an opportunity to represent his people in Parliament.
One good term…
In a related development, Mr Awuku has asked the people of Tolon constituency to consider the state of development in the area since NPP took office and give the party another term.
Speaking in the constituency as part of his community engagements in the North, he stated that it was refreshing to observe the people recounting their fair share of President Akufo-Addo’s interventions.
Mr Awuku mentioned that about 10 different villages in the area have benefitted from the 1-Village-1-Dam policy; 15 different communities have been connected to the national grid; and also benefitted from the government’s Planting for Food and Jobs, the Free SHS policy and many others.
History
He noted that Tolon holds a special place in the NPP’s history, especially looking at the special role played by the late Tolon Naa Alhaji Yakubu Taali, who was the running mate to the Victor Owusu, the presidential candidate of the PFP, a party which is part of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition.
He reminded them of where Ghana has come from as a country and the situation that existed before the NPP assumed government in January 2017.
He also reiterated Nana Akufo-Addo’s commitment seeing to the development of Tolon from 2021, reminding them of their sacred obligation to vote for continuity on December 7.
The people shared their experiences with the NPP Organiser, and promised to support Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Tolon, and also vote for President Nana Akufo-Addo to continue with his good works for another term.
