Dr Gideon Boako, Economic Advisor and Spokesperson to Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, has donated a Toyota pick-up and ten motorbikes to the Tano North constituency, in the Ahafo Region, to ensure effective campaign for the party in the area.
He said the donation was to facilitate the work of the executives and other party members who were handicapped in terms of transportation, to help them to achieve their objective of retaining the parliamentary seat and gaining a landslide victory for President Akufo-Addo in the crucial December general elections.
The Toyota pick-up and the 10 motorbikes were presented to the constituency at a colourful ceremony organised at Duayaw Nkwanta on Sunday.
Present to witness the ceremony were the constituency chairman, the Municipal Chief Executive for Tano North, party regional executives and other party stalwarts.
Market NPP
Dr Boako, who is a campaign team member for Ahafo Region, has already donated 10 motorbikes to the Ahafo Regional Secretariat of the party for onward distribution to the various constituencies.
Speaking at the durbar to present the items and also inaugurate NPP Drivers Association in the constituency, he appealed to NPP functionaries in the constituency to enter every part of the constituency to spread the good news of the party to the electorate and make them apostles of the party.
“Do not only tell them what we plan to do for the nation, but also tell them what we have already done, including the various social interventions undertaken by the government in the past three years, which are readily evident on the ground, to testify to the party’s commitment, dedication and determination to development in unity and freedom,” he added.
He explained that December 7 elections is about comparison of records between John Mahama and President Akufo-Addo. He added that it is very easy to point to something that President Akufo-Addo had done, which mattered to people, as compared to John Mahama who mismanaged the economy.
Timely
The constituency chairman for Tano North, Nana Afodwo Bonsu, after receiving the motorbikes and vehicle on behalf of the constituency, expressed their profound gratitude to Dr Boako for the kind gesture.
He noted that the donation formed part of many interventions Dr Boako, who happens to be a native of the constituency, has fulfilled towards his bid to help maintain the Tano North seat and increase the presidential votes in the upcoming elections.
He stated that the donation was very timely and would go a long way to help the party in campaigning in the constituency.
