The country head of IENG Ghana was surprised to find the avalanche of waste deposited at the Jamestown Beach daily making it unattractive to visitors.
To this end, he urged the entire corporate Ghana and other stakeholders to help in saving marine lives by preventing ocean’s pollution.
Commitment

The assembly member of Ngleshie Jamestown, Nii Ayi Hayford, thanked the country Head of IENG Ghana for the time, energy and resources invested in the beach cleaning and coconut trees planting exercise.
“I hope that these efforts will enhance the beauty and attraction of visitors to the beach, which will in the end promote healthy lifestyle and improve the economic welfare of the fishermen and inhabitants along coastal communities,” Nii Ayi Hayford stated.
The Director of Operations of NNF, Peter Asidie, bemoaned that all the coconut trees at the coastal belt of Ghana have all been overaged and died. He said the situation makes it uncomfortable for visitors and fishermen while at beach because of the scorching sun.
He called for greening beaches campaign, aimed at ensuring planting coconut trees and other ornamental plants at Jamestown Beach and replicating same in all coastal areas.
Waste management
Mr Asiedu reiterated the passion of NNF sanitation volunteers’ corps towards ensuring continuous education and sensitization of community members on proper waste management practices through waste segregation at source.
