Madam Fatimatu Abubakari, the Board Secretary of the newly launched GrowLead Foundation, says the initiative will play a crucial role in supporting Ghanaians, particularly women, girls, and marginalized communities, while working to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.
Speaking at the official launch of the foundation at Wesley Towers in Accra on Thursday, October 16, 2025, Ms. Abubakari noted that GrowLead Foundation was established as a not-for-profit Ghanaian organization dedicated to empowering women, girls, and disadvantaged groups across the country — with a strong focus on the five northern regions, Zongo communities, and settler enclaves.
According to her, the foundation’s goal is to nurture leadership, amplify voices, and create meaningful opportunities for women and girls to participate actively in civic life and decision-making processes.
“GrowLead Foundation is here to support Ghanaians and help bridge the gap between the poor and the rich,” she said. “We believe empowerment begins with access — access to education, leadership opportunities, and platforms where voices can be heard. Our aim is to build a society where women and girls have the confidence and capacity to influence change.”
She explained that strong and resilient communities are built when women and girls are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to drive lasting transformation. Through targeted programmes, GrowLead Foundation seeks to promote leadership development, civic participation, and socio-economic inclusion among marginalized groups.
