An all ladies group known as Sisters Keepers Association has donated some food and clothing items to the Grace Orphanage Home at Awoshie in the Greater Accra Region.
The donation is part of the association’s corporate social responsibility of putting smiles on the faces of the vulnerable. The items donated include bags of rice, sugar, charcoal, story books, clothes, bedspreads, washing powder, shoes, among others.
Continuous support
Presenting the items, the head of communications for the Association, Abena Opokua Ahweneé, said their interest is mostly in making children happy, hence the decision to support the facility. She promised that the association would continue to support the management of the home to improve the welfare of the children there.
The manageress of the home, Marian Adabie, thanked the group for the kind gesture. She noted that their support would go a long way to support the upkeep of the children. She called on other benevolent groups and individuals to come to their aid and support the children, especially with regard to issues that promote good healthy living.
She further appealed to individuals and philanthropic organisations to help them enrol the children on the National Health Insurance Scheme. This, she said, will help the children to access good medical care when needed.
