Mr Stephen Ayesu Ntim, a would-be contender in the NPP national chairmanship race, has rallied members of the party to work tirelessly to set the new record of breaking the eight-year governance cycle in the political history of the country.
The NPP Chairman hopeful made the call at a meeting with constituency executives in the Greater Accra Region over the weekend.
According to him, the breaking the eight mantra of the party will only become a reality through loyalty, commitment and discipline to the cause of the party.
‘Breaking the 8’
The former National First Vice Chairman of the NPP explained that the 2024 general elections is so unique and crucial that, for the first time, a party in power has a chance to break the 8-year jinx due to its hard work and performance.
“The party has worked hard for it, and deserves to retain power in 2024. ‘Time Aso’ for the NPP to break the 8. ‘Time Aso’ for Ghanaians to maintain NPP in power beyond the 8 years. Yes, ‘Time Aso’ because we have done the job and still doing more,” Mr Ayesu Ntim said.
Mr Ntim further indicated that the party had fulfilled the promises in its manifesto and the time had come to continue its good works to the latter.
“The NPP government has performed well. We have constructed the roads, and have set up the factories. We have digitised the economy. We have created the jobs and have stabilised the power sector. We have provided the Free SHS. We have provided the infrastructure. So it is time for NPP to continue its good works, and it will take hard work from all of us here,” he said.
Mr Ntim also encouraged the constituency executives to work hard by embracing unity, discipline and commitment.
“If the party proclaims the good works of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, continuing beyond 2024 is achievable,” he stressed.
He further called on them to join his team as they work together for the betterment of the party because of his maturity to steer the affairs of the party in the right direction for victory 2024 and beyond.
“I have immense experience as a former National First Vice Chairman of the party and the support base which I have accumulated over the years to position the party to secure one-touch victory for the party. So I entreat you all to rally behind me to make this a reality,” Mr Ntim added.
