Justin Kodua Frimpong, YEA Chief Executive
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has committed to collaborating with the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to reduce unemployment in the region to the barest minimum.
The YEA Chief Executive Officer, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the initiative would be attained through extensive development of agriculture through the Agency’s regionalfFlagship programmes.
He said this at a brief ceremony to commission the YEA’s new office complex to serve as the headquarters for the region.
Mr Frimpong believes the new office will aid in bringing job opportunities closer to the teeming youth in the region. He added that his outfit would forge a closer relationship with the RCC to implement the numerous modules and projects, including the YEA Jobcentre, the Artisan Directory, Flagship Projects, Work Abroad Programme, and the numerous Entrepreneurship support programmes.
Government that empowers
The Oti Regional Minister, Dr Joshua Makobu, who is a former employee of the Agency, complimented the Akufo-Addo government for its commitment to the empowerment and development of people. He welcomed the innovative efforts of the new management, and called for a deepened collaboration between the two outfits to create more opportunities for the people in the region.
“As a Regional Minister, I wish to state my unflinching support for the job creation agenda of YEA, which is perfectly in line with the government’s industrialisation drive,” the Minister said.
Dr Makobu took the opportunity to urge participants to buy into the E-Levy proposal to allow government to create more jobs, as emulated by YEA.
Mr Francis Kofi Okeso, the Dean of Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Oti Region and MCE for Krachi East, complimented government for the significant infrastructural developments that had occurred across the region since its inception.
He believes that the construction of the YEA office will encourage other state agencies to complete their regional offices as soon as possible.
Nana Bameasem Asafohene, the Chief of Dambai, thanked the government for the quick transformation of Dambai, as well as the entire Region, since its creation.
