The Airports Council International (ACI) has adjudged Kotoka International Airport (KIA) as the best airport in Africa, by size and region, in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award.
This was announced in a statement issued by the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) on Friday.
KIA, which has been churning out about two to five million passengers per year in Africa, and managed by the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), won the same award in 2019 and 2020, making it the third in three consecutive years.
GACL attributed the feat to “the successful efforts of all stakeholders in providing a superior customer experience during the most difficult and challenging years of the pandemic”.
The Managing Director of GACL, Pamela Djamson-Tettey, said the company was delighted that Kotoka International Airport had been recognised for this award, saying this makes it the 3rd time the airport is receiving the recognition.
“It is indeed a testament of the commitment and tireless efforts of staff and stakeholders at the airport. We will collectively use this success as a launch pad to rally around our mission of providing world-class airport facilities and services for the benefit of stakeholders,” she stated.
Madam Djamson-Tettey also noted that the award would spur them to work even harder to continuously enhance passenger experience at the various airports
“We remain deeply committed to prioritising superior customer experience and will continue to harness efforts and resources to make the passenger journey a pleasant one,” she added
